Most couples understandably want a few photos taken at sunset. So, they either time the ceremony to end around that time so they can do all their pictures during cocktail hour, or else they duck out of the reception, usually some time during dinner to catch that perfect light. But it's not just for the light, of course. It's also to get that sunset-on-the-ocean background that every San Diego wedding really ought to have. This is especially true at a place like Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla, which looks out from the edge of a high sandstone cliff. It's pretty remarkable scenery that both out-of-town guests and locals (and even the vendors!) really appreciate.
Well, for Lydia and Steven it was so remarkable that they didn't feel right keeping it all to themselves. So right as the sun was about to set, although the dinner reception had already started, they invited everyone back outside to enjoy the sun slipping down behind the horizon while having one more cocktail. It didn't matter that the salads had already been served-- perfect sunsets on perfect days don't come around that often, so when they do, it would be a shame not to appreciate them surrounded by family and friends.
Congrats, Lydia & Steven!
